About Kauri Point Woodcraft:
After 30 years farming in the Central Plateau we moved to the Bay of Plenty for a complete change of life style.
As a farmer and having a “don’t throw it – fix it attitude” , I have always had satisfaction and enjoyment from creating items from recycled native and exotic timber.
I am constantly on the look out for timber that can be salvaged or milled and enjoy breaking down wine barrells using the french oak timber to create beautiful homeware pieces.
Over time, oak from the barrell becomes infused with red wine giving it a distinct smell and colouring.
Moving to the Bay has allowed me more time to get creative which is how Kauri Point Woodcraft began.
